Anti-Inflammatory Hemp Milk Recipe

 

Dairy is one of the most common food allergens. Something we help all of our clients to do here at The IBS Academy is to assess what may be contributing to symptoms (whether that be skin, digestion, inflammation, or fatigue) and more often than not, dairy is a culprit.

Benefits of Hemp

Protein

33% of the seed is complete protein, meaning it has all 9 essential proteins which our bodies cannot produce.

Healthy Fats

Hemp has more than 6x the amount of omega 3s than raw tuna! As well as high amounts of GLA. Both omega 3s and GLA are powerful anti-inflammatories.

Fibre

Hemp is at the top of the list for easily tolerated fibres, especially in those with IBS and SIBO.

Minerals

Contains a high amount of trace minerals, which support our immune systems.


Anti-Inflammatory Hemp Milk

I'm excited to share this recipe with you in hopes that this milk proves to give you the creaminess, satiation and happiness it does for me. Move over dairy milk - nut and hemp milks are the new white.

Ingredients: 

  • 4 cups of filtered water
  • 1 cup organic hemp seeds
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1-2 pitted Madjool dates OR 1T maple syrup (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend for 60 seconds or until well emulsified.
  2. Pour mixture through a fine strainer (or nut milk bag) into a large bowl.
  3. Pour the milk from large bowl into mason jars and keep in fridge for up to 5 days.
